Catching Up

So its been a while since I blogged...so I figured I would catch everyone up. I had a birthday, my 24th one to be exact. So here are some pictures from that. I went to a drag show...(those pictures are not available). A drag queen called me up on stage and made everyone wish me happy birthday and told me I was the cutest little thing. :  ) We also went "light show" bowling which was really fun.
I am also steadily working on my fortune cookie project (I am making ceramic fortune cookies with a little green "erinite" swarski crystal in the corner and a quote about happiness on the inside, I am going to secretly put a whole bunch around my neighborhood for the summer weekends)... I am going to put out the first batch this weekend since its supposed to be 80 degrees and gorgeous both days! My fleet is still not as large as I would like so I am going to keep rollin them out and putting them out.
So my dad came to town the other weekend on business so we got to visit! I had two delicious birthday dinners! Woohoo. We went to Avec, which is a newly famous Chicago restaurant (you may have seen one of their chef de cuisine on TopChef, we saw her there), and we had the best seats in the place! They were right at the bar in front of a cute chef whom I tried to flirt with (sorry Mahmoud...its natural)...I guess he was busy cooking, whatever! We also went to Mortons and made friends with the crazy polish bar tender at dads hotel. She told us lots of stories.
So I have been busy busy!
I hope everyone is well. We need to get back on the blogging ball kiddos.

Valentines Day Weekend!

So this weekend I had my adorable boyfriend came to visit me for Valentines Day...but before that he sent me beautiful roses to work, which are pictured above (that weird little brown flower is Tiffany! Haha).
Tiffany, Mahmoud and I went to dinner at one of Rachel Rays top Chicago Italian joints...which was a nightmare with good food. We did have good company though so it was still a fun time. Sunday night after dinner we went to a Hookah bar and got to sit in a cool little room on pillows and talk. It was fun! So here are some pictures from Mahmouds visit here to the Windy City.
We also went to lunch at this place called Lucky's which Mahmoud and I saw on Man Vs. Food... it turns out its right in my neighborhood. They have delicious sandwiches with coleslaw and french fries right on it!! (They sound really heavy, but suprisingly they weren't!) Its still not the healthiest sandwich ever, but it will be a fun place to take visitors when they come...(hint hint who wants to come next!?)
I also posted a picture of the snow we got a few weeks ago. Its been warmer here for the past few weeks, which has been GREAT!
Hope everyone had a great Valentines Day!

Foot Steps

I know most of you have probably seen this, but I wanted to post about it for those who haven't. Until about three years ago when my mom sent me this little excerpt I didn't know that my Grandpa Harrington worked in interior design! He was an amazing artist, soldier, father to 8, and grandfather to more than that..and an Interior Designer! I was overjoyed when my mom sent me this, and just think it is really special. It is cool to think I am following in his footsteps a bit, and its great to come from such a creative talented family.  I hope that if my grandpa were here today he would be proud of all my design accomplishments!!
