Jeremiah in the City

so this week my good friend Jeremy has ventured to Chicago to visit little old me. Its his first stop among many in his after graduate travels. We have been hanging out with all of my Chicago friends, and they all love him...how could they not...this is the boy my grandmother told me to hold on to, "hes a nice boy." We had a nice weekend out, got our faces done froze offffff while walking back from a movie, and we are going to have another great weekend, because of course its super bowl sunday. We are going to have a little get together at our place, so I will keep you updated with the aftermath of that. It should be fun! Anyway, he is one of the only friends from high school I keep up with and he is a great guy. We are having fun and it is great to see him!

Chocolate Cherry Diet Delicous

well the dr. has done it again...introducing their new delicious chocolate cherry diet dr. pepper those crazy soda folks have managed to win me over, yet again. they got me the first time with their glorious berrys and cream diet dr. pepper, which sounds rather gross, but is suprisingly smooth and creamy and heavenly. a dessert of sorts. i came a cross some trouble while trying to hunt down this miraculous treat, searching the local 711 and walgreens i had no luck...but the grocery store did have a liter, so i bought it. it tastes like a tootsie roll. if upi havent tried it, give it a whirl. you wont regret it.

Zero Degrees

well, it may always be sunny in chicago, but that definitely does not mean that it is going to be sunny and warm. that is for sure. i heard a lot of buzz about how this weekend it was only supposed to be 4 degrees, and how that means no one will be going outside. well, i thought how bad could it be, just bundle up, you've grown up in the cold north east...no big deal. let me tell you something...4 degrees is cold, and zero degrees is even colder, which was the actual temperature of this bright sunny saturday. oh that, and the -17 degree wind chill. bone chilling.
anyways, my friends and i are troopers, we werent going to let a little blood chilling cold hold us down, or in. we went estate sale shopping in the burbs, which can get you some pretty sweet digs. i got some really neat vintage christmas cards which you can be expecting next christmas (that is if i have remember them). although we did have the heat of an automobile to get us around, i was pretty proud of us staying out the whole day in this artic weather. i think this weekend was my first taste of a real chicago winter. i mean its no crab legs in florida, or a california hike where the coldest it gets requires my brother to apply a long sleeve t-shirt, but I think its bearable...at least with the right parka, hat, earmuffs, gloves, mittens, scarfs, socks, socks, socks, and another pair of socks, long johns, and a large cup of hot chocolate.

Work Review = Verbal Spew

So, I lived through my very first work performance evaluation today...contrary to my thoughts before hand. I felt like I was walking into the doctors office, where you hope things are going to go well, but there is always that chance they don't. Although it went well, I must say in the beginning I am pretty sure I pulled a Miss South Carolina...such as like...I mumbled through some words not actually making a point. But all in all, I survived and it went great. I was nervous, probably noticably, but they said they were glad to have me and I would be a good person to put in front of a client...which is always flattering.

I also recieved a card from the Risleys today! By looking at the picture its hard to believe that I babysat for this family for eight years or more. Megan looks like shes my age, or atleast way too old for me to have babysat her. Reid looks like a grown young man...and Emma, adorable. Karen also comes to visit Chicago every few months and will be here in February...So hopefully I will get to meet up with her. Thats all for today!
